Why open a basic bank account?
A basic bank account will allow you to receive money and pay bills. Having a bank account gives you the opportunity to:

  • Get discounts on household bills when you pay by Direct Debit
  • Pay in and cash cheques free of charge
  • Pay in a salary and get money out free of charge
  • Withdraw cash at cash machines (usually free of charge, but some cash machines do make charges)
