LOCAL COMMUNITY GAINS AN INSIGHT INTO PROSPECTIVE NEW
TWO CASTLES HOMES
Local residents in Sedbergh, near Kendal in Cumbria, have shown support for a proposed development of twelve, brand new affordable homes from Two Castles Housing Association at a recent community event.
Two Castles held a community consultation at the People’s Hall, Howgill Lane in Sedbergh to discuss proposals for the new homes, which would be located at Guldrey Lane Depot in Sedbergh.
The homes are being built in partnership with Cumbria County Council and South Lakeland District Council. The event brought together key stakeholders, including local residents living adjacent to the proposed site, ahead of the planning application submission.
Attendees were given the opportunity to provide feedback and speak with the Association directly, and its architects NPS, on the proposals.
Lisa Hogarth, property services project manager at Two Castles Housing Association, said: “It was great to see residents and stakeholders in Sedbergh show their support for the proposed plans for new housing in their area, they gave invaluable feedback towards the project.
“The proposed homes will include two, two bedroom bungalows, two, two bedroom flats, four, three bedroom houses and four, two bedroom houses available for rent. We will be submitting our planning application shortly and, if we are successful, we intend to begin work in 2010.”
