LATEST TWO CASTLES DEVELOPMENT UNITES SOMETHING OLD WITH SOMETHING NEW
Two Castles Housing Association is furthering its commitment to the provision of affordable homes in the North West with a new development of ten properties available for rent in Egremont, near Whitehaven.
Situated on Main Street, Old Hall is a 150 year old listed building that was previously used as a local nightclub. Two Castles has converted it into one, three bedroom and four, two bedroom flats alongside a selection of five new build properties, which include four, two bedroom flats plus one, two bedroom house, which have all been allocated.
Stephanie Murphy, chief executive of Two Castles Housing Association, said: “We are pleased to unveil this new development, which provides much needed, high quality affordable homes to local residents within the market town of Egremont.
“This has been a particularly interesting scheme to work on as it involved the restoration of an old disused stone property into modern homes which will benefit local people. Two Castles is committed to providing a high standard of affordable housing and we are proud to be involved in this project.”
Councillor George Clements, deputy leader of Copeland Council, said: “We are delighted at the completion of this scheme by Two Castles Housing Association and their growing contribution towards meeting the affordable housing needs of our communities.
“We see this as a signal of our future intentions for the development of affordable housing throughout the borough in partnership with housing associations.”
