FACELIFT FOR TWO CASTLES’ HETTON DEVELOPMENT
Over one hundred Two Castles Housing Association residents in Hetton-le-Hole are set to benefit from £300,000 worth of home improvements.
Two Castles Housing Association has begun work on a large improvement scheme this month to revamp 57 one and two bedroom flats and 6 three bedroom houses on Lyon’s Avenue, in Hetton-le-Hole.
The development’s refurbishment includes rewiring to ensure up-to-date standards are met and exceeded, as well as kitchen and bathroom improvements, meaning residents will benefit from modern fittings and a choice of new finishes.
Dave Armstrong, housing services director, said: “We often undertake work of this nature to ensure we provide modern amenities in all our properties. However, this is the first time we’ve ever done it all at once which makes it a lot easier for residents.
“Our residents are always at the heart of what we do so it’s imperative our properties have up to date facilities and that there is as little disruption as possible for those living there.”
The association’s residents are also benefiting from the personal involvement of Roz Johnson and Jean Norfolk, who have both been Two Castles’ Resident Committee Members since 2006.
Two Castles has had residents serving on its committees for over 10 years. The Resident Committee Members are encouraged to have their say in the whole Two Castles’ process including where and what the association builds to how it manages its properties.
