TWO CASTLES REWARDS LONG SERVICE
Two Castles Housing Association, which was recently shortlisted for Cumbria Employer of the Year, has given a Long Service award to three employees who have been with the company for 60 years.
Cleaners Frances Glencross, Doreen Scott and Linda Lamb have all recently celebrated their 20th anniversaries with Two Castles, where over 30 per cent of staff have ten or more years of long service.
Frances Glencross works at a sheltered housing scheme, Upperby Court and has lived in the area for 33 years. She said: “It’s such a friendly atmosphere. I know everyone in there and live close by so it’s the perfect job for me.”
Doreen Scott, who is also from Carlisle, cleans the communal areas at Bishop’s Close, one of Two Castles’ biggest sheltered housing schemes. Doreen said: “There are 45 flats at Bishop’s Close so it’s a big job, but everyone is so nice and friendly. I really enjoy the three mornings a week I work there.”
The third recipient of a Long Service award, Linda Lamb, works at Bank Top Hamlet, a sheltered housing scheme in the North East. Said Linda: “I love my job. Residents say hello when they’re passing or they come out to speak. I couldn’t ask for a nicer place to work.”
Chief executive at Two Castles Housing Association, Stephanie Murphy, said: “We’re lucky to have such loyal and long serving employees who are committed to their work. Recognition of long service in this way also allows us to formally thank each of them for helping to make Two Castles Housing Association the leading provider of affordable housing and services to residents that it is today.”
Two Castles Housing Association has a team of over 100 staff members and has offices in Carlisle, Kendal, Whitehaven and Newcastle. It owns and manages over 3,300 properties across the North and provides high quality and affordable homes for ownership or low cost rent.
