TWO CASTLES CONTINUOUSLY DEVELOPING ITS WORKFORCE
Having announced recently that over a third of its staff has 10 or more years long service, Two Castles Housing Association surpasses its track record with even more internal promotions, as well as a new appointment.
Angela Losh, from Carlisle, has been with Two Castles for 17 years, and takes the reins as the Finance Manager with Gary Hodkinson replacing her role as Senior Finance Officer for Management Reporting. Gary, who is also from Carlisle, has been promoted from his role as Finance Officer.
Angela said: “Obviously I enjoy being here as I’ve been here my whole working life but the main reason Two Castles is such a great place to work is because they allow us to progress and develop our skills.”
The role of Assistant Regional Housing Manager for the North East has been covered temporarily in the last year but Two Castles is now pleased to announce Karen Vickers has joined the team in that position and will add stability and continuity in her support of the Regional Housing Manager.
Karen said: “I’m from the North East so I’d heard about Two Castles’ great reputation and wanted a more varied role than I’d had in the past. I’m looking forward to helping to develop even better services for our residents.”
Karen, who started her career 20 years ago as a Welfare Benefits Officer, came to Two Castles from Home Housing after seeking promotion following the completion of her Housing Sustainable Communities degree at Northumbria University in July 2005.
There have been other internal changes (at the same level within the Finance Department). Two Castles’ Chief Executive, Stephanie Murphy, commented: “We moved Finance Officers into the same role but in another area of the company to give everyone a wider knowledge of the association. We’re keen to retain staff and benefit existing staff members through continuous professional development.”
Two Castles Housing Association, with offices at Newcastle upon Tyne, Carlisle, Kendal and Whitehaven in Cumbria, provides quality affordable homes. To find out more about Two Castles telephone 01228 541161 or visit www.twocastles.org.uk.
