Two Castles builds new homes in Brampton
The site plan for Gelt Rise, Brampton
Two Castles Housing Association has started work on 17 new affordable homes in Brampton, thanks to £850,000 of vital funding from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).
Located 500m south of Brampton’s town centre, Gelt Rise will comprise: four, two bedroom homes, 11 three bedroom and two, four bedroom homes, all available for affordable rent. Construction of the new homes started on site in December 2010 and is due for completion in September 2011.
Two Castles involved local residents and the wider community in the consultation process for the development, which is sympathetically designed around a substantial number of mature trees on the site’s southern border. Bringing much-needed affordable housing to Brampton, the development achieved full planning permission last summer.
Stephanie Murphy, chief executive of Two Castles Housing Association, said: “We are committed to providing high quality, affordable homes and we are delighted to start work on Gelt Rise. We have recently completed a number of new developments in the North West, including Harmony Hill in Milnthorpe and Higher Grange at Grange over Sands - Gelt Rise further endorses our ongoing role in bringing much needed affordable homes into the local area.”
