Two Castles Housing Association residents have been sowing the seeds of success again this summer with its annual garden competition.
Dianne Morris, a resident at Castlegate Gardens in Gateshead, was announced as the first prize winner in the Best Individual Garden category for her eye-catching borders and pots. The beautiful floral displays by residents at Bank Top Hamlet in Whickham were also awarded first prize in the Best Communal or Sheltered Scheme category.
Dave Armstrong, housing services director at Two Castles Housing Association, said: “Now in its third year, this annual competition has been as popular as ever with our residents, who have all worked hard to impress the judges with their gardens.
“I would like to congratulate all of the winners as there was a very high standard of entries this year, which is testament to the commitment and hard work of everyone involved. It is great to see residents taking so much pleasure in improving their outdoor environment for both themselves and their neighbours.”
Other winners in the North East included residents at Arcadia Court, Darlington, in second place and Bexhill Square, Sunderland, in third position in the Best Communal or Sheltered Scheme Category. The second prize for the Best Individual Garden was awarded to Tommy Tait of Archbold Cottages in Wooler, with Catherine Lincoln of Reaston View in Slaley receiving third place.
