Funds raised for mayor's charity
Two Castles Housing Association has presented a charity cheque for £3,224 to the Mayor of Carlisle, Councillor Bill Graham, thanks to a successful fundraising golf day.
The presentation took place in front of guests at the Association’s Christmas reception this month and funds will go towards the Mayor’s Charity, The Eden House Children’s Hospice in Carlisle. The money was raised at Two Castles’ annual corporate golf tournament, which took place at Stony Holme Golf Club in July and brought together a number of teams from businesses and organisations throughout Cumbria and the North East.
Stephanie Murphy, chief executive of Two Castles Housing Association, said: “Our annual corporate golf day is a great way of raising money for very worthwhile causes. We are dedicated to supporting the local community and were pleased to welcome the Mayor of Carlisle along to our Christmas reception at Paternoster Row, Carlisle, to receive the cheque in person.”
